Here we are...about to enter the "holiday season" again.
McKinley is breezing through her first year of school. She loves it! And the love affair is mutual.
With mom now working full time she is also in day care for the first time....And doing great. Even though we have all seen her less than desirable side from time to time, she is really growing into a great kid. I can''t wait to see what''s next from her.
Here we are....#5! How did we get so far, so fast?!
McKinley is definately looking forward to this one. To her 5 is a magical number that unlocks all of the things she''s not been able to do for the past 4 years. We kept putting off milestones such as earrings and riding a 2 wheeler for when she was 5. I guess we were kidding ourselves, thinking that it would never really come. But here it is and she''s ready to call our bluff.
So come on #5....we''re ready! And McKinley was "born ready".
Christmas is upon us and McKinley CANNOT wait! Has she been good? I guess we''ll just have to wait and see. But I think we all know the answer to that.
With all the joy of getting ready for Christmas, there has been some sadness too. Our beloved Gracie left us a few weeks ago. It was very sudden and a great loss to the entire family. McKinley took it well and knows that Gracie is waiting in the "stars" for her.
We can''t wait to start another new and exciting year!
What a Summer! McKinley is back in school (4 yr. pre-school) EVERYDAY...and Mommy is back at work. We are on the go all the time. McKinley is also back in dance and can now swing all by herself. She''s so proud of herself and is not ashamed to let you know it. Her next focus is Halloween. She changes her comstume daily. This week it is Hannah Montanna (go figure). We want to see everyone soon. Love''ya!
Well, all the holidays are over and we survived....barely. McKinley is doing great. She''s still refusing to potty train, but I''m beginning to think it is a control issue....just like any good woman. She''ll come around eventually.
Not much else exciting happening...just waiting for spring to come.
Well, Fall is here and Winter is on the way. McKinley is back in school and loves it just as much this year.
McKinley has had a lot going on lately. She got a new puppy....Gracie! We all love her so much. She doesn''t take Kodi''s place, but she sure does help fill the void. McKinley was recently a flower girl....she did so well and looked so beautiful. She also had testing on her kidneys...she does have some scarring, but not enough to go ahead with the surgery now. We take that as good news/bad news.
Well, the Summer is almost over. Boo Hoo! McKinley has had a great Summer with lots of beach time and swimming and playing outside. She''s really enjoying her swingset.
On a much sadder note, we lost a very special member of our family....our precious Kodi has passed away. He was such a great dog and was so devoted. He will be so missed. He was 11 years old, but had the spirit of a young puppy. We Love You Kodi.
McKinley is 23 months old now and is can''t wait to be 2! Despite our best efforts, our little girl is growing up. She''s so independent now and likes to play like a little mama herself.
It is so amazing how far she has come. We got a good report from the UNC doctors regarding her kidneys. It seems that the smaller one has actually grown to catch up with the other one and they are both the "right" size now. We go back in about 6 months to have the dye study done to determine if she still has the reflux. Keep us in your prayers then.
McKinley is 20 months old! She can''t wait for Christmas! She went to her first parade today and loved it. I''m sure she wishes we had one every week.
On a darker note...McKinley had a little accident (actually on her 20th month birthday). She cut her finger over the fireplace hood and had to have stiches (alot). She''s got them out now and is on the road to recovery. And believe me, it didn''t slow her down one bit.
McKinley is 19 months old now! She''s gearing up for Thanksgiving and especially Christmas. She''s talking even more (if that''s possible) and you''re even able to understand a work here and there now. She''s still "into" the Wiggles and now loves Sesame Street almost as much. We can''t wait to share the holidays with everyone.
McKinley is 18 months old! Can you believe we''ve made it this far?! She is gearing up to go trick-or-treating for the first time this year. Wish us luck. She''s going as Dorothy the Dinosaur from The Wiggles.
She''s saying more and more everyday and you can even understand some of it now. Her favorite is still Kodi though.
McKinley is 17 months old! She''s even in pre-school now...well, not school, a Stay-N-Play program, but she thinks she''s big. She seems to love it. She''s talking ALL OF THE TIME and KNOWS that what she has to say is important. Fall is just around the corner and McKinley loves going outside and just walking around the yard. Look out neighborhood...here comes McKinley!
McKinley is 15 months old now and as you can tell by the pictures, we are enjoying the beach a bit more now. She''s still not too hip on the sand, but she''s getting more used to it. Just don''t ask her to touch it.
I thought she was into alot before...oh my was I wrong. She is into absolutely EVERYTHING now. Nothing is safe!
We hope everyone is enjoying the Summer, we sure are.
We have a WALKER! McKinley started toddling around on May 17th. She had taken 2 steps earlier, but not like this. She''s all over the place now. She''s still working on getting up from sitting down, but it won''t be long. As long as she can pull up she can go. Way to go McKinley!!
McKinley is growing up so fast. We just had her first family birthday party in Stoneville this past weekend. Everyone came and we all had a great time....especially McKinley. She got so many gifts and just as many hugs and kisses from everyone.
McKinley is officially 1 year old! She had her big party in MHC this past weekend and she enjoyed every minute of it.
She''s up to 19 lbs and is 29 inches long. AND she took her first steps today. She went from the recliner to the table (about 2 steps). Stan & both were there to see it. We got so excited, but she didn''t seem to care too much.
We had her last appointment in G-ville today too. All is well down there and we won''t be seeing them for another whole year. Yeah!
McKinley is now 11 months old and weighs 18 lbs.! She''s 27 1/2 inches long.
She is pulling up on anything and everything! She just itching to walk and even stands alone for a minute before realizing she''s balanced and then grabs anything in sight. She really loves to toddle behind her little walkers...chasing Kodi all over the house.
We have a doctor appointment in G-ville next week and it should be our last for a whole year...yeah!
